things that never happen
in Switzerland you can count on two things: the trains are on time and the shops aren't open on Sunday. Until today, when the tram system came to a standstill for about 2 hours because this one blocked both tracks and intersection after its wheel broke during a collision with a car....

Yikes! Yesterday I saw a blind man walk right off the BART platform onto the tracks. Luckily this was BEHIND the train that just stopped (he was feeling along the edge of the 3 car train and thought the end of the train was an open door). He missed the third rail.
Does this mean that they have to open the shops a bit on Sunday to compensate? :)
I wonder if the person who ran into the tram get a larger fine if the tram is out of comission for a longer period of time.
